David Trevey - Drums
I've been playing drums for about 20 years now. I'm one of the more -shall we say-"seasoned" members of the group. I actually taught public school band before I got the chance to travel and play. In 1996, I had the incredible opportunity to travel with Sam Perry for part of that summer(cool story on how God works if you ever want to know) and I was hooked. I spent most of the next 4 years with Sam until we disbanded. Another cool God thing- when Soul's Desire ended Jeff needed a drummer. I stepped out of one band right into another and have been with Jeff ever since. I love playing worship music because it has eternal significance and I've been blessed to support two of the best worship leaders out there...

Favorite Verses: It changes almost daily, but right now it's Phil. 3:7-11.

Playing philosophy: My playing is 95% groove/feel and 5% flash. The main job of a drummer is to set the mood and feel for any given song. If you look up and you see people moving in rhythmic response to the music, you're doing it right. When it comes to fills, they need to be purposeful and tasteful. (Other musicians don't want to hear a constant barrage of a drummer's latest & fastest licks). I also enjoy using random things (mallets, toys, etc.) to create unique sounds. Above all, it's all about using a God given talent to glorify Him!

Influences: Steve Smith, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Smith, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, and did I mention Steve Smith?
