Jeff Berry is from Abilene, Texas and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a degree in Business. He went on to receive his Master’s degree in Business from Baylor University and taught in the Hankamer School of Business for 5 years. In addition, he served as Assistant Director of the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship.
In 1994, Jeff left the world of academia and founded CrossWind Ministries as a platform from which to launch his worship ministry. For 11 years, Jeff helped direct Grace Bible Study, a non-denominational bible-study for college students in Abilene. Starting with 50 students in 1994, GRACE grew to over 1000 students attending the weekly gathering.
Over the years CrossWind has developed into a multi-faceted ministry organization comprised of Jeff Berry Worship Ministry, Curiously Strong Music Publishing, and Reality Weekends, an intensive discipleship weekend for youth. Every aspect of CrossWind is driven by worship. Most recently Crosswind has expanded into the areas of resources and services to the local church, primarily in serving the worship ministries.
Since its inception, The Jeff Berry Band has led in thousands of setting across the United States and in England, Germany, Turkey, and Scotland. For 3 years beginning in 2004, Jeff and his band lead worship in the contemporary service at The Heights Church in Dallas, TX. In addition, Jeff regularly led worship for Dallas Baptist University, and also has served as an adjunct professor there in their Music Business program.
Jeff is a member of the Gospel Music Association, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy’s).
Jeff is married to Anna (his only successful blind date) and they reside in the Nashville area with their two boys, Jake and Parker.
